Statistical Commissions adopts resolution on “Work of the UN Statistical Commission pertaining to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”

On Friday 10 March the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC) agreed by consensus a draft resolution on the “Work of the UN Statistical Commission pertaining to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.  In so doing the UNSC recommends that the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) adopts the resolution and that the UN General Assembly do likewise…

2030 Agenda data and indicators discussion at the Statistical Commission

For consideration of data and indicators for the 2030 Agenda, the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC) had before it: the Report of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group (IAEG); the Report of the High Level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and the Report of the Secretary-General on the work for the review of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals as well as a number of other background documents. Also to be discussed was the draft resolution on the work of UNSC pertaining to 2030 Agenda. This was circulated in an informal paper.

Register to participate in the 2nd Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs (Deadline 14 April 2017)

As requested by the General Assembly resolution 70/1 on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the President of ECOSOC will convene the meetings of the STI forum once a year to discuss science, technology and innovation cooperation around thematic areas for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
