EGM on HIV - Survey among Community & Civil Society in the Asia-Pacific region

We have received the following: 

For organizations in the Asia Pacific region,  I am sharing a short CSO survey designed to measure the progress towards the commitments in the Asia Pacific Regional Framework for Action on HIV and AIDS beyond 2015.  This is to complement a government survey administered by ESCAP. However, the CS survey aims for greater inclusivity and contains an additional question on gender, as well as opening the definition of key populations (the ESCAP definition is limited to MSM, sex workers, injecting drug users and transgender people).

Last day to apply! CS Forum in advance of the Midterm Review of 2013 Asia Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development

The Asia-Pacific CSO Forum will be held on 24-25 November 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. It serves as a NGOs and community based organizations that are familiar with ICPD processes and that work on SRHR, Gender Equality, HIV, Human Rights, Migration, Aging, Youth, Climate Change, or Conflict in Asia and the Pacific are particularly encouraged to apply.  If your organization is interested in being attending, please carefully review the full call for participation here.

Apologies for the short deadline for applications of 15 October 2018 for scholarships, and 22 October  for self-funded applicants. CS representatives wishing to participate should apply here.

ICPD Beyond 2014 + 5 Regional Reviews — Asia Pacific

The Sixth Asian and Pacific Population Conference (6APPC) was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 16 - 20 September 2013. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) mid-term review of its outcome, which will constitute the intergovernmental regional review of the ICPD agenda in the Asia Pacific Region will be held in Bangkok from 26 – 27 November 2018. It is planned to hold a CSO Forum and a Youth Forum immediately before the Intergovernmental Meeting (dates to be confirmed) and Member States will also be encouraged to include CSOs in their delegations…

APFSD – SDG Week in Asia Pacific

The week of 28 November – 2 December was SDG week as ESCAP, during which a series of meetings were held on the Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), including the follow-up and review process.  Both APA and ARROW were among the CSOs accepted to the meetings.

The next APFSD will be held on 28-31 March 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand, organized by UN ESCAP. The theme follows the 2017 High Level Political Forum, “Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world", and the agenda will have three main items:...
