Commonwealth Medical Trust (Commat) Safeguarding Policy
The Commonwealth Medical Trust is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all people with whom we engage and work. We have the responsibility to safeguard them, and we clearly understand our responsibility for making such safeguarding arrangements.
Our Safeguarding Commitment to you in ensuring that:
- You are always being treated with respect, and that we work to listen to your concerns, challenges, opportunities and ideas.
- You can be assured that we will never share your conversations, perspectives, stories, photographs, and film of you without your explicit consent. We will never misrepresent your story. You will never be coerced to give your consent if you feel uncomfortable or want to stay anonymous.
- Our Staff, volunteers and those involved in our project should always act in a respectful way and should not make inappropriate remarks, make you feel uncomfortable or have any physical contact with you.
- We will never ask you to pay or exchange goods to benefit from the project or its services.
- We have policies in place which inform the organization, and individuals within it, on how to respond to situations where abuse is suspected and how to work together to promote the welfare of children and young people.
- We will listen, If you have any concerns, and work cooperatively to ensure that any risk to those we work with is acknowledged and responded to in a professional and timely way.
- All project staff and volunteers are made aware through mandatory training, regular supervision and informal support of their own duty, and the duty of other statutory and voluntary agencies, to safeguard all people and communities with whom we work.
