We are delighted to announce that the 7th International Parliamentarians' Conference on the Implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action (IPCI/ICPD) will be taking place in Ottawa, Canada on 22-23 October 2018.
Around 300 parliamentarians, ministers, and invited experts are scheduled to attend the 2018 IPCI/ICPD conference which is taking place at a crucial time for the international community, as 2019 will mark the 25th anniversary of the Cairo agenda and the need for a renewed global political consensus has never been so evident.
In Ottawa, organizers (UNFPA and regional parliamentary networks) therefore expect parliamentary delegates to generate a forward-looking, action-oriented declaration that builds upon the previous IPCI Commitments and charts a clear direction for the ICPD mandate in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
