Interactive dialogue with Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing

An interactive dialogue for non-state actors with members of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF) will be held on Tuesday 5 August from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm EST in Conference Room 1 at UN Headquarters, New York. It will inform the fifth plenary session of the ICESDF, which meets from 4-8 August.

As mandated in The Future We Want, the outcome document of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio + 20), the fifth session of the Committee with be finalizing its report proposing options to the UN General Assembly on “an effective sustainable development financing strategy to facilitate the mobilization of resources and their effective use in achieving sustainable development objectives.”

The ICESDF Co-Chairs gave a public briefing, which was organized by UN-NGLS, on the Committee’s work to date on 18 July. A structured summary of this briefing will serve as the basis for the 5 August dialogue. Those wishing to ask questions based on this summary should do so until 3 August using the online form. Questions will then be selected to be addressed by the ICESDF Co-Chairs and Experts during the Interactive Dialogue. The questions submitted will be posted as they are received.
