Opportunity to comment on the revised Nairobi commitments

Civil society and youth activists have an opportunity to comment on the revised Nairobi commitments through a new survey on the Nairobi Summit website. (http://www.nairobisummiticpd.org/news/icpd25-revised-commitments-what-do-you-think)

The revised survey, which now comprises 12 commitments, and comments will be considered by the International Steering Committee at its next meeting to be held shortly, so you are advised to act quickly so that your views are taken into account.

Global Sustainable Development Report 2019 released

The Global Sustainable Development Report 2019 is now available for download on the Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform. 

The GSDR will be discussed at the Summit and is specifically mentioned for the first session on Wednesday, 25 September  in the context of critical entry points. In addition to many references to health, reproductive health specifically is included in the following paragraph on page 40:

UN Grounds Pass Suspension for NGOs

The following information is only relevant to NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC.

All NGO UN Grounds Passes (annual and temporary) will be suspended from Monday, 23 September 2019 – Sunday, 1 October 2019. This means that you will not be able to enter the UN building using your UN Grounds Pass during this period. As you know, Special Event Tickets will be required.

SDG Summit & CSO Forum Update

During the UNGA high-level week all UN Grounds Passes for ECOSOC-accredited organizations will be suspended, as is the usual practice. All representatives from the Major Groups and other Stakeholders will require a Special Event Ticket (SET) and a government-issued photo ID to pass through the NYPD security barrier at 2nd Avenue, as well as to pass through the security gate to enter the United Nations building
