Setting the stage! Dates announced for General Assembly thematic debates and high-level events on post-2014 development agenda

As stated previously three thematic debates and three high-level events will be held to enable Member States to begin the elaboration of the priority areas for the post-2015 development agenda. They are:

Analysis of proposals in the SDGs e-Inventory related to the themes of the Seventh Session of the Open Working Group on SDGs by the Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future

The Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future has conducted an analysis of proposals currently housed within the SDGs e-Inventory which relate to the thematic areas of OWG-7: Sustainable cities and human settlements and sustainable transport; sustainable consumption and production (including chemicals and waste); and climate change and disaster risk reduction in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) e-Inventory to inform the deliberations of the session.

Open Working Group (OWG) Session 7

The 7th Session of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals takes place between 6-10 January 2014.

It will consider sustainable cities and human settlements, sustainable transport. (2 days) Sustainable consumption and production (including chemicals and waste), (1.5 days) and climate change and disaster risk reduction (1.5 days)

UNDG Announces Second Round of Post-2015 Consultations

As reported by the iisd Reporting Services, the UN's One Secretariat on Post-2015 has announced a new round of consultations on the post-2015 development agenda. These will take place from January to December 2014 and will include national, regional and global discussions, and place emphasis on "how to make the agenda work."

Intergovernmental Committee of Experts for Sustainable Development Financing Briefs Stakeholders and hears Civil Society Proposals

As reported on Post-2015 Policy and Practice, the UN Intergovernmental Committee of Experts for Sustainable Development Financing (ICSDF) held an interactive multi-stakeholder dialogue during its second session in New York from 2-6 December 2013.

In reporting on the work of the Committee, Co-Chair Pertti Majanen said that the Committee had begun to address substantive issues. He also announced that a joint meeting is planned with the Open Working Group in early March. The Committee would, however, continue to hold closed sessions.
