BACKGROUND
The COVID-19 pandemic is ravaging across the globe, causing serious illness, death and disrupting life as we know it.
The medical emergency and the public response to it most importantly the unprecedented restrictions to the movement of people but also on a range of economic activities is also having a dramatic impact on economic activity.
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) has launched three briefing papers targeting the social, economic and financial impacts of COVID-19 as well as public policy recommendations:

The World Economic Situation And Prospects: COVID-19: Disrupting lives, economies and societies, April 2020.
UN DESA is organizing a webinar to present the main findings of these three new briefings as well as to create an opportunity to exchange views with stakeholders and partners from all over the world.
