We would like to inform you that submission of written statements to the fifty-fourth session of the Commission on Population and Development (19-23 April 2021) is now open. The special theme of the session is: “Population, food security, nutrition and sustainable development”.

Written statements by NGOs in General and Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC, to be circulated as official documents for consideration of the Commission at its fifty-third session, can be submitted by email between 9 November and 9 December 2020. Only the first twenty statements received by 9 December 2020 will be processed by the UN Secretariat and published as formal documents that will be posted on the session’s webpage.

Information on submitting written statements is available online at: https://www.un.org/development/desa/pd/content/cpd54-written-statement-submission.

The submission process has changed this year; statements must be submitted via email using the template provided at the link above. Please follow all instructions on the website carefully to avoid rejection of submitted statements.

Please note that registration of NGO representatives for the 54th session will open in January 2021. Submission of requests for oral statements will also open at that time. Detailed information will be sent prior to the opening of registration and posted on the Commission’s website.
