The following is an updated call for nominations of expert speakers from Major Groups and other Stakeholders for the 2019 HLPF. The new deadline for nominations is 6 May 2019. Please read the nomination form carefully as important information on the nomination process has been updated.
2019 HLPF: Call for Expert Speakers from Major Groups and other Stakeholders
The 2019 High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will be held at UNHQ in New York from 9 to 18 July 2019 under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. The theme for the session will be Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality. More information is available at https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/hlpf/2019

Representatives of Major Groups and other Stakeholders (MGos) are invited to nominate practitioners and eminent experts to contribute to the various thematic round table discussions to be organized during the first five days of the HLPF session. Please note that self-nominations will not be accepted and that some MGoS constituencies (detailed in the form) will run an internal process to identify the candidates to be put forward. The nominations will be reviewed by UN DESA in consultation with the Steering Group of the MGoS HLPF Coordination Mechanism, and presented for final selection to the President of the Economic and Social Council, taking into account equitable geographical distribution, gender, age, constituency and issue-based balance.
