Letter by the President of ECOSOC transmitting the draft ministerial declaration

 The attached letter from the President of ECOSOC, H.E. Marie Chatardova has been sent to all Permanent Representatives and Permanent Observers of the United Nations, transmitting the text of the draft ministerial declaration of the 2018 high-level political forum on sustainable development and of the high-level segment of the 2018 session of the Council.

In her letter the ECOSOC President says she understands that there is no full agreement on paragraphs 12 (includes right to development); 16 (on gender equality , including gender-based violence, sexual exploitation, harmful practices and gender mainstreaming); 17 (on children, adolescents and youth); 23 (on water and sanitation including the specific needs of women and girls for menstrual hygiene management and those of persons with disabilities); and 28 (includes Addis Ababa Action Agenda, overseas development assistance and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030).
