[Action required by 4 July] VNR Labs during HLPF
We have received the following from International Association for Public Participation (IAP2), Global Organising Partner NGO Major Group:
UN DESA have announced that a series of “VNR Labs” (Voluntary National Review Labs”) will be held in New York during the ministerial segment of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) from 16 to 18 July 2018. The VNR Labs will be held in the morning, during lunch-time and in the evening. They seek to respond to the strong demand from Member States, various institutions and major groups and other stakeholders to take stock of the experience thus far with the Voluntary National Reviews. Eight informal reflection sessions will be organized by Divisions of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs to provide an informal platform to engage countries conducting a VNR in 2018 or having conducted one in the past, along with non-reporting countries, the UN System and other international organizations as well as major groups and other stakeholders. The Labs will allow participants to reflect jointly about how to further improve the VNR process at the HLPF. The link to the concept note is here.
