ODAY briefing on 2017 ECOSOC session, at 3pm EST/7pm GMT/8pm CET

We have received the following from DESA:

The Bureau of the Economic and Social Council will hold a briefing on the programme of work of the Council for the period April to July 2017 today, Friday, at 3 p.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber. Colleagues with valid UN grounds passes are invited to attend.

The President (Zimbabwe) will brief the Council on the preparations for the upcoming coordination and management meeting (19-20 April 2017), to be chaired by the Vice-President (Czech Republic). The Vice-President (Pakistan) will brief the Council on the preparations for the integration segment (8-10 May 2017) and the Vice-President (Germany) will brief the Council on the preparations for the humanitarian affairs segment (21-23 June 2017).

The President (Zimbabwe) will also brief the Council on the preparations relating to the partnership forum (5 April 2017), the special meeting on international cooperation in tax matters (7 April 2017), the multi-stakeholder forum on science, technology and innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (15-16 May 2017), the Economic and Social Council forum on financing for development follow-up (22-25 May 2017), the special meeting on “Innovations for infrastructure development and promoting sustainable industrialization”(31 May 2017), the high-level political forum on sustainable development, convened under the auspices of the Council (10-14 July 2017); and the high-level segment, including the three-day ministerial meeting of the high-level political forum on sustainable development (17-20 July 2017).
