Save the Date! March 1 Webinar - The Goal and its interlinkages: Realizing the Gender Equality Promises of the 2030 Agenda

We have received the following fron UN Women:

With only 13 ½ years to go until the realization of the 2030 Agenda it’s a necessity that we understand the most important catalysers which can deliver the agenda for women and girls. A focus on gender equality is an enabler which will support the delivery of the entire agenda.

SDG 5, the stand alone gender goal, together with gender targets and linkages in the other 16 SDGs offer a coherent sustainable development vision to which all governments have committed. It is critical that governments deliver on this ambitious agenda and are held to account by their citizens to ensure that gender equality, women’s human rights and women’s empowerment are prioritized.

This webinar will pull together different experts - members of civil society and feminist voices from different regions - who have been key actors in advancing the 2030 Agenda through their work in engaging with feminist movements, delivering direct women-led services to women, creating tools to support implementation and holding duty bearers to account. Speakers and participants will discuss successful strategies and efforts by women-led and feminist organizations and movements, as well as untangle some of the obstacles they have encountered on the road of implementation. Through this we will explore the critical opportunities, benefits and challenges in seeing gender equality and women’s empowerment not only as an isolated goal, but as a lens through which all SDGs can be delivered.
