Financing for Development Update 2
Change of date for Informal interactive hearings with civil society changed to 9 April 2015
The preparatory process for the Addis Ababa Conference includes informal interactive hearings with civil society and the business sector, to be convened on 9 April 2015. The hearings will foster dialogue between Member States and non-governmental actors on all substantive issues related to the Conference. They will also provide civil society organizations and business sector entities with an opportunity to share their views and recommendations on the draft outcome document of the Conference, the zero draft for which is due to be made available at the end of February.
Registration and accreditation for civil society
In accordance with the Note by the Secretary-General on “Proposed organization of work of the third International Conference on Financing for Development” (See A/69/542), online registration and accreditation to the Conference and its preparatory process will be available through the United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service. Please visit www.unngls.org for more information.
Civil society inputs to the preparatory process
In order to facilitate the coordination of proposed civil society interventions, all civil society organizations interested in the Conference and its preparatory process are invited to join the Civil Society FfD listserv, which is an open platform that will serve as an important channel of communication and coordination for civil society organizations planning to engage in the process.
As a minimum you should include the name of your organization and your title within the organization, noting that the processing of requests can take 3-5 days. In cases of difficulties in joining the listserv please write to: Matt.Simonds@ituc-csi.org.
