Preparatory forum for civil society engagement in post-2015 development agenda

The following has been received from Beyond-2015 on calls for applications for members of the Steering Committee for a preparatory forum to be held on 16 January 2015 and the first negotiating session on the post-2015 development agenda.

Information has been received from the UN that, in order to support civil society engagement in the forthcoming intergovernmental negotiations on the post-2015 agenda, a preparatory forum will be convened by DESA-DSD and UN-NGLS on Friday, 16 January 2015, in New York.

The UN is therefore setting up a Steering Committee to ensure broad and inclusive participation of stakeholders in this preparatory forum, as well as in the first negotiating session on the post-2015 development agenda (in accordance with the relevant modalities that are yet to be determined). Applications to be a member of the Steering Committee will be accepted until 30 November 2014.
