Global Review of the 1994 ICPD Programme of Action: UNFPA calls for civil society and youth input

In 1994, the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) took place in Cairo, Egypt, in order to address the urgent needs of individuals worldwide in a comprehensive manner. The outcome of this Conference was a 20-year Programme of Action that recognizes “that every person counts, and that population is not about numbers but about people and their quality of life.”
