Zero Draft - Political Declaration of the SDG Summit

The Zero Draft for the Political Declaration of the SDG Summit is being discussed today, 22 May. Negotiations are also scheduled for Friday 7 June and Wednesday 12 June. 

The draft refers to global health threats (para 17) and the outcome document of the high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage which will take place in September. (para 21) The promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls is included (para 6), with the recognition that progress towards gender equality is too low. (para 16) There is also a commitment to leaving no one behind with the focus on the poorest and most vulnerable.
