Friday 12 April 8:30am-10:00am - meeting between MGoS & Co-facilitators of Political Declaration and SDG Summit

As many of you know, this year the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development (HLPF) will meet twice – once under the auspices of ECOSOC held from July 9-18, and once under the auspices of the General Assembly, referred to as the SDG Summit, which will take place 24-25 September. Both will be held at the UNHQ in New York. A Political Declaration reflecting the outcomes of both HLPFs will be adopted by heads of state and government at the SDG Summit in September.
With this background, the co-facilitators of the Political Declaration, H.E. Ms. Sheila Gweneth Carey, Permanent Representative of Bahamas to the United Nations, and H.E. Mr. Olof Skoog, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations, along with the facilitator of the SDG Summit, H.E. Mr. Rubén Armando Escalante Hasbún, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations, invite representatives of Major Groups and other Stakeholders to a meeting this Friday, 12 April from 8:30am-10:00am EST at UNHQ in New York, in room S-2726 of the Secretariat Building.
The meeting will serve to brief representatives of Major Groups and other Stakeholders on the negotiation process for the Political Declaration, as well as upcoming plans for the SDG Summit, including opportunities for stakeholders to engage. There will also be time for Major Groups and other Stakeholders to ask the co-facilitators questions about these upcoming activities.
