ICPD25 – from now to the Nairobi Summit [Posting 2]

The months between Commission on Population and Development (CPD) 1-5 April and theNairobi Summit, to be held 13-15 November 2019, will provide an opportunity for discussion and strategizing at the national and regional levels.

The Nairobi Summit will be the pinnacle for the conversation that will start at the national level involving key stakeholders – Governments, parliamentarians, civil society organizations, academia and the private sector etc. The Kenyan Mission to the United Nations has informed all other missions about the Summit, so after CPD will be the time to get in touch with your Government counterparts and UNFPA Country Offices to indicate your wish to be involved at the local or national level. Consultations are also planned for the regional level.

There will be side events or other activities at the time of the ECOSOC High-level Political Forum, 8 - 19 July and the General Assembly High-level Political Forum (SDG Summit), 23-24 September 2019.
