HLPF Ministerial Declaration: Zero Draft and Consultations today, 14 June

The process has now begun for the Ministerial Declaration for the High-level Political Forum (HLPF), as can be seen by the letter below from DESA-OISC.

The zero draft includes paragraphs that relate to health and gender equality and women’s empowerment, but lack linkages with the work done, for example, with last year’s HLPF themes.

Dear all,

Please see attached the Zero Draft of the 2018 HLPF Ministerial Declaration, as shared by the co-facilitators, the PRs of Australia and Bangladesh.

As per the cover letter, please note that an informal consultation will be held tomorrow, 14 June from 10:00 to 13:00 in the Trusteeship Council, to gather general comments. Please monitor the United Nations Journal for any room changes. The first reading of the zero draft will be conducted on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 June.

Major Groups and other stakeholders are welcome to participate in the consultation tomorrow and a select number of representatives will be able to intervene in the end of the session.
