Resolution on 2030 follow-up and review – consensus reached on draft 

The President of the General Assembly has circulated a further letter in which he says that he has been informed that “consensus has been reached on the draft text” for the resolution on follow up and review. It will now go to the General Assembly on Friday 29 July 2016.

According to the draft resolution the theme for the high-level political forum (HLPF) for 2017 will be: Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world. The HLPF will also consider in depth goals 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 14.

Paragraph 12 on Major Group and Stakeholders reads: 

Encourages that, in the organization of the meetings of the high-level political forum, web-based interfaces should be considered as an additional means of supporting the effective, broad and balanced participation by region and by type of organization in accordance with the modalities on the participation of stakeholders in resolution 67/290, and reiterates the call to Major Groups and Stakeholders to report on their contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda”
