We have received the following invitation from the United Nations Statistics Division, on behalf of the High Level Group on Partnership, Coordination and Capacity Building for statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, to participate in a consultation on the Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development which will be finalized at the World Data Forum to be held in Cape Town 15-18 January 2017. The deadline for the consultation is 16 November:

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the High Level Group on Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLG-PCCB), we would like to invite you to participate in a consultation on the Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development Data. The Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development Data was drafted by the HLG-PCCB and calls for a full, active and focused commitment of government, policy leaders and the international community to implement the sustainable development agenda. Furthermore, this Global Action Plan calls for policy leaders to achieve a global pact or alliance that recognizes that funding modernization efforts of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) is essential to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. You can find the draft version of the Global Action Plan on which this consultation is based attached to this email.

This consultation is open to all countries, regional and international agencies, civil society, academia and the private sector. The HLG-PCCB is seeking inputs from all interested organizations and countries on the Global Action Plan through this consultation.

The consultation will take place from 3 November to 16 November. The inputs received will inform the ongoing discussion of the HLG-PCCB in their finalization of the Global Action Plan that will be presented at the World Data Forum to be held in Cape Town, South Africa 15-18 January 2016 (http://unstats.un.org/sdgs/meetings/iaeg-sdgs-meeting-04/).
