2016 UN Statistical Commission 1: Documents on date and indicators for 2030 Agenda available

The two reports on agenda item 3(a) Data and indicators for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, for the for the UN Statistical Commission meeting 8-11 March, are now available on the UNSD website.

The documents are:

1. The Second report of the IAEG-SDGs: please click here to read it

2. The Report of the HLG for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity Building for post 2015 monitoring is also available here

In looking at the indicators for targets related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, only the indicator 4.7.1 is marked *, which indicates that it is still being reviewed. It should, however, be remembered that Members of the Commission might decide to ask questions or make comments, when the agenda item is discussed.

Further articles on these documents will be posted in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile plase note that on January 28th the President of the General Assembly will convene a briefing to provide an update on the work of the IAEG-SDGs. The briefing will include the participation of John Pullinger, Chair of the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC), Enrique Ordaz, IAEG-SDGs Co-Chair, and Francesca Perucci, UN Statistics Division. This meeting will be a briefing only and usually Member States ask questions and make general statements. It is unlikely that civil society will be allowed to speak.
