Montevideo consensus on population and development - 5 keys for moving from words to action

According to DAWN, the Montevideo Consensus in 2012 achieved during the Latin America and the Caribbean regional meeting as part of the Cairo +20 review process, is the most progressive inter-governmental agreement on SRHR. Governments and civil society have now begun to move actively towards its implementation. The statement on the “5 keys for moving from words to action” (available in English and Spanish) are part of DAWN’s contribution to this stage of the process. They will, together with their partners and colleagues, continue to be engaged actively in this very important process that can also help define new standards and methods for the implementation of the SDGs.

You are invited to follow DAWN on their website where they are increasingly making statements available in both English and Spanish, as well as on Facebook and twitter for quick updates as the process unfolds.
