Population Dynamics Thematic Consultation Update

 

The Thematic Consultation on Population Dynamics is particularly important for ensuring the inclusion of sexual and reproductive health and rights in the Post-2015 Development Agenda. The following information is therefore provided to inform you to assist you in engaging in the process.

The report of the Expert Group Meeting on Population Dynamics and the Post-2015 Development Agenda that took place in New York 19-20 November 2012 is now available. 

As is the case with other thematic consultations, a meeting with the private sector is scheduled to take place on 23 January 2013 in New York. This will be the four main themes for the consultation of population growth, ageing, migration and urbanization. The Global Leadership Meeting, which will take place 11-12 March 2013 in Dhaka, will conclude the global thematic consultation. There will also be briefings for member States in New York on 22 January 2013 and in Geneva on 22 February 2013.

Meanwhile the Beyond 2015 Campaign is completing its position paper, which will be fed into the process. In addition the e-discussions continue of the World We Want 2015 website on:
