Gorilla gazette - Issue 6

Well, hello and welcome to the latest issue of the Gorilla gazette… My name is Christmas, and I bet you know why. Yes, I was born on 25 December 2001, so I am 20 years old. And my family is called Xmas, being named after yours truly. Don’t you think I have a very fine silver back, which is very appropriate, of course.

We live in the Nkuringo southern sector of Bwindi and we have split from the Nkuringo family. At the moment it’s not fully decided as to who is part of which family, as we keep grabbing from one another. Just like humans, I do believe.

Gorilla gazette - Issue 5

Actually, shall we say, I’ve just moved in. And, if there’s anyone in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest who is bigger than a silverback, it’s me, or my friends and family.

Gorilla gazette - Issue 3

 Issue 3: October 2021

Well, hello. I am Busingye. As Kakukojo told you last time, he asked me to write this issue of the Gorilla gazette. He lives in the northern part of Bwindi and I live in the southern part. It took him a little while to get in touch about it, and as you saw in the film clip in the last issue, I like to spend time sitting around and eating, and time sort of went by…

Gorilla gazette - Issue 2

Well, it’s me, Kabukojo again!

I was planning to invite one of the other gorillas to write this issue of the Gorilla gazette but someone took this picture of me with my son and I just wanted to show you that we gorillas know exactly what to do when we speak to our children. We bend our knees and squat down so that we don’t over power them, just like humans. At the moment this little one doesn’t have a name, but I will let you know as soon as he does.
