On 12 August 2020, UN Women will host a virtual event in celebration of International Youth Day. The event will be a recognition of the contributions and leadership of youth, particularly during these times of COVID-19. Global solidarity will be shared with and from youth activists, leaders, and feminists from across the globe. You may find the programme here.
Co-hosted by international activist Zozibini Tunzi, the virtual celebration will feature artistry and creativity of award-winning performers including dancers and spoken word performers, such as 25 May Movement, Malkia Band, Yvonne H+, Maia Reficco Viqueira, Manizha, Masha Brodskaya and many more. There will be two panel discussions; a Social Justice panel moderated by Jayathma Wickramanayake, United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth and a Peace and Security panel, moderated by Hajer Sharief, human rights advocate and the co-founder of “Together we build it”. You may find biographies here.
You cannot afford to miss this celebration on YouTube. If you want to engage live with other activists from around the world, during the premier, use your Gmail account.
