Gender Equality Action Coalition applications are due on Feb 21 (see attached). Each Action Coalition will be open to a large group of members, which can be Women’s/ Feminist CSOs, scientific institutions, progressive businesses, etc.

The Civil Society Advisory Group to the Core Group (CSAG) is pushing hard for quotas for grassroots, young feminists, and other groups that are often not well represented, as participants in the Generation Equality forums in Mexico and Paris.

Governments can also join the Action Coalitions, so it would be good to find out if your government plans to do so. Armenia might not lead any despite being a GE champion country due to chairing the CSW64.

Once these Action Coalitions are created, the members will flush out what their work and commitments look like, so there is a possibility for new ideas like regional action coalitions.

Finally, the Action Coalitions have 6 different themes, including bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). It is hoped that the themes will be crosscutting through them all. More information and the application process are attached.

The 64th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW64) is taking place from March 9-20.
