The Department of Economic and Social Affairs is pleased to announce that the applications for Side Events and Exhibitions to be held at the margins of the 2019 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development under the auspices of ECOSOC are open as of today, Monday, 18 March 2019. The application can be found at: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/hlpf/2019/#other. Please ensure that you review the side event guidelines and exhibition guidelines before applying.

The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, 19 April 2019.

Side events and Exhibitions of the HLPF are held outside the official programme and provide great opportunities to discuss the theme and SDGs under review at the HLPF, deepen the discussion on voluntary national reviews (VNRs), identify emerging and new issues, listen to all voices, and help spread greater awareness of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in general at all levels.

In view of the large number of requests anticipated, and taking into consideration the very limited space and time allotted for the Side Events and Exhibitions, requests should be limited to one per entity. Organizers wishing to host multiple events will be asked to prioritize their events.

Side Events and Exhibitions can be sponsored by Member States, the UN system and other intergovernmental organizations and accredited Major Groups and other Stakeholders.

One collective side event slot will be reserved for each of the Major Groups and other Stakeholders constituencies active in the HLPF.

Best Regards,

DESA/OISC
