We have received the following from DESA:

Invitation to ECOSOC stakeholders

Dear Distinguished ECOSOC Stakeholders,

As part of preparations for the forthcoming review by the General Assembly of its resolution 68/1 (attached) on the ECOSOC functions and architecture, Ambassador Gert Rosenthal, former Permanent Representative of Guatemala and former President of ECOSOC, is acting as a consultant to prepare an informal paper for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).

We are pleased to convey that Ambassador Rosenthal would highly appreciate a discussion, during his time in New York next week, with stakeholders who have engaged through ECOSOC for the eradication of poverty and the advancement of sustainable development.  We wish to invite you to an open, informal, collective dialogue with Ambassador Rosenthal the morning of Wednesday, 15 November, from 8:30 to 10:00 am at UN Headquarters in New York (venue to be shared under separate cover).  Feedback on any aspects of resolution 68/1 will be most welcome.

We would be most grateful if you would confirm your participation with Ms. Melody Cruz (Email: cruz@un.org , Tel.:+1-212-963-4197). For those stakeholders unable to join us in person at UN Headquarters, we would be pleased to arrange an audio link to the discussion.

We look forward to your engagement.

Best regards,

 Eric Olson
