The sixth meeting of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators (IAEG-SDGs will be held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, 11-14 November 2017, with the Plenary Session which is open to observers on 13-14 November.
During the first part of the Agenda, participants will be updated on the new membership of the IAEG-SDGs*; the outcomes of the ECOSOC, HLPF and General Assembly on indicators and follow-up and review; and on the work if the three working groups of the IAEGs-SDGs, namely SDMX, Geospatial information and the Joint-sub group of the IAEG and the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLG).
Items for discussion include: review of tier-classification of indicators; review of progress made on methodological development of Tier III indicators; review of any proposed annual refinements of indicators; guidelines on data flows and global data reporting; data collection calendar; Data Disaggregation; and work plan and next steps.
It should be remembered that the original proposal was for Data Disaggregation to be considered in a working group, but the decision was taken for it to be taken up by the IAEG-SDGs itself as all countries wished to be involved.
