The First annual Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals will be held at the UN on Monday and Tuesday 6-7 June 2016. This event hosted by the President of ECOSOC is part of the Technology Facilitation Mechanism mandated in the 2030. This event aims to "provide a venue for facilitating interaction, matchmaking and the establishment of networks between relevant stakeholders and multi-stakeholder partnerships in order to identify and examine technology needs and gaps, including with regard to scientific cooperation, innovation and capacity-building, and also in order to help facilitate development, transfer and dissemination of relevant technologies for the sustainable development goals.".

Mr. Macharia Kamau, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to the United Nations and Dr. Vaughan Turekian, the Science and Technology Adviser to the US Secretary of State, are requesting questions to the speakers through Twitter. The moderators of each session will pick during the discussions the most inspiring Twitter questions and comments to be posed to the speakers.
