Jeffrey Huffines, of the NGO Major Group, has informed Major Groups and other Stakeholders that UN-NGLS has offered the following clarification In response to a number of queries:
If an organization received approval of accreditation to the Summit, it does not mean that the organization will receive passes to attend the Summit.
It means that representatives of these organizations that applied for registration before the 24 August deadline have qualified for further consideration in the allocation of passes. UN-NGLS is still waiting on the final number of seats that will be allocated to NGOs in the Summit, but they know it will not match the number of applications from accredited organizations. The UN will do its best to accommodate as many organizations as possible.
Now that the 24 August deadline has passed, requests for passes emailed to UN offices will not be considered. NGO representatives who have been approved for a UN pass to attend the Summit will hear directly from the UN.
