Annotated Agenda for 2016 Statistical Commission now available

The annotated agenda for the 2016 Session of the UN Statistical Commission is now available.

The Commission will have before it the report of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs)  on the development of a global indicator framework for monitoring the goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In the report, the Group describes the activities it has undertaken since its establishment and the outcomes of its first two meetings and the process for the development of the global indicators. 

The report contains a proposal for the global indicators developed by the Group, including both indicators that are fully defined and indicators that will require refinement, in accordance with further methodological development and discussion. A workplan on the latter set of indicators will also be presented in a background document to be submitted to the Commission.

The Commission will also have before it the first report of the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Post-2015 Monitoring, which highlights the outcomes of its first two virtual meetings on 7 October 2015 and on 11 November 2015, and details on the preparations for its first physical meeting, scheduled for the beginning of January 2016.
