The UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution in plenary on 10 September 2014 that makes the Report of the Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) “the main basis for integrating sustainable development goals into the post-2015 development agenda.” (A/68/L.61, as orally revised, and issued officially as A/RES/68/309).

In presenting the draft resolution, the President of the General Assembly, said that a corrigendum to the Report of the OWG (A/68/970) would be issued. This will incorporate the names of additional Member States providing statements in explanation of position on the report in addition to those currently listed in para 13.  The footnote to para 13 of the report will be revised to note that such statements are contained in an addendum, which will later be issued as an official UNGA document (A/68/970/Add.1).

The resolution, as orally revised and adopted by consensus, in addition to acknowledging the conclusion of the work of the OWG and welcoming its report, decides that the proposal of the OWG will be “the main basis for integrating sustainable development goals into the post-2015 development agenda, while recognizing that other inputs will also be considered, in the intergovernmental negotiating process at the UNGA's 69th session.”

For further information on statements made by Member States during the discussion of the resolution see here. During the discussions, while most statements did not address substantive issues directly, the United States referredf specifically to gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights in their statements
