A presentation on behalf of the Women’s Major Group, the Major Group on Children and Youth and others was given during the civil society session of OWG-12 on 18 June 2014.
In the statement a number of proposals were made including the inclusion of the right to health in the chapeau and a revision for target 3.1 to “by 2030 eliminate preventable maternal mortality and reduce morbidity.” In addition the group in called for in 3.8 “by 2030 ensure universal access to high quality, comprehensive, equitable and integrated sexual and reproductive health services, information and education, and respect, protect and fulfill all human rights in this regard, with a particular focus on adolescents and young people.
