NGOs Beyond 2014 - Articles

The following information has been received from Beyond 2015 on a webinar with the UN PGA on the role of parterships:

On April 2, 10am New York time, Beyond 2015 will convene a webinar with the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly (PGA) , in advance of their meeting on the Role of Partnerships (April 8 and 9, New York).

If you would like to take part in this webinar, please register with Fiona on fhale@beyond2015.org. To guide the webinar, the PGA has shared a concept note and the following guiding questions for CSO contributions:

What are the key lessons learned of the implementation of MDG 8 and what incentives can be created to reinforce its implementation?
While not a substitute to existing cooperation mechanisms, how can multi-stakeholder partnerships be an important complement to achieving internationally agreed development goals, including in the context of the post 2015 development agenda?
How can Civil Society and other Multi-Stakeholders incentivize engagement for the implementation of sustainable development, in particular from the private sector?
Which models or mechanisms can help ensure effective monitoring and accountability of the means of implementation of the post-2015 development agenda?

The outcomes of these discussions will help inform major conferences being held in 2014, namely the Third Conference for Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States of SIDS which will be held in Samoa from 1-4 September 2014, the Ministerial Conference on New Partnerships for the Development of Productive Capacities of LDCs to be hosted by the Government of Benin in July 2014 and the Comprehensive Ten-Year Review Conference of the Almaty Programme of Action to be held 3-5 November 2014 in Vienna, Austria.
